Hi there, I am Silvia, founder of Armonia Digital.
I am a mum of two and absolute lover of everything numbers and a logical approach. After all, my 10+ years in investment banking have shaped my approach to everything, life and of course even this business.
Saying that, I undoubtedly have a passion for everything design and beautiful. I am originally from Milan, the fashion capital of the world and that's not something to be taken lightly! We tend to have an eye for what works visually.
And yes, I laugh. A LOT.
My business approach is clear though: I love efficiencies, I hate waste. I love communication and just getting things done!
my cultural background
I was born in a town, near Milan, in Italy.
There is not one cell in me that’s not Italian and I love it!
I love food, family and everything beautiful.
Milan is all about you look and the fashion and although I am not as obsessed as I once was I just love things that look beautiful!
And, coming from Milan, means that you grown up being taught what looks good and what doesn’t!
It also means passion for the work I do!
And that crazy obsession with perfection, which means sometimes I am not happy with things other people consider amazing! A bit crazy for me, but who cares if it gets you a beautiful website!
from london to sydney:
my corporate experience
I moved to London when I was 19. It was my dream to live there.
I loved everything England! The language, how cool everything was, the music.
And it was the best decision I took.
Little did I know that after a brief experience in the retail world (to improve my English) I would have started working in investment banking.
And I loved it. I met amazing people who taught me so much about how to work efficiently, under pressure and with tight deadlines.
And I met my now husband! What a bonus!
We moved to Sydney in 2007 and my career continued in investment banking.
As my career progressed I learnt more about managing a team and global projects.
It was fun and I learnt so much about myself in the process: managing people is one of the hardest thing you will ever do and it gives you the opportunity to reflect on your communication.
Being effective in your communication is key!
the kids and life
Kids change your life! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
But for the better. And that’s what happened to me. I loved my career but I needed more.
More flexibility. More challenges.
So I started studying digital marketing with the intention of seeing if I was good and if I liked it.
I worked for a few mentors that gave me great feedback on the way I work and my creative work.
I also realised that there are so many skills that I bring to the table. Skill that I have learnt in the corporate environment and that can bring so much value to my customers.
My communication. My passion. My attention to details. My inability to give-up.
